Acceptable Use Policy
Rules/Terms of Service (Abridged Version)
You are required to follow these rules at all times, and to periodically check to see if there has been any updates to our Terms of Service. The staff of e-Fans will do their best to notify members of any changes or updates via email or in the forum. It is still your responsibility to ensure you are following the most current set of rules. The full version of the ToS/AUP can be found at http://www.e-fans.net/terms-of-service.php.
General Rules
You must either have a celebrity/tv/movie site or have a concept for one worked out prior to applying for any free hosting account.
You will have a minimum of two weeks from the time your site is approved to have a fully functioning web site up. Failure to do so may result in having your account suspended or removed. (Paid hostees are not subject to this rule.)
Anyone under the age of 13 must obtain their parents permission to have a site hosted and proof of this must be furnished to e-Fans. More information on this can be found in our Children's Privacy Policy This is in compliance with COPPA. No exceptions.
I will not accept sites that are primarily download sites or providing space for you to back up your files or remotely store files for use from another server. Anyone found guilty of running one of these on our servers is subject to immediate suspension or termination.
Your site must be a fully registered domain name (no .TK or other free domains) or an e-Fans subdomain. No exceptions.
You may have media files in your webspace provided you follow the Media File Policy.
Radio Blogs
Radio Blogs are not allowed on the servers. They include sound files which are streamed off the server, which not only uses a LOT of bandwidth but place extra strain on it. This in turn makes other hostees sites run slower and is not fair to others sharing the server.
If a radio blog is found in your web space you will receive one (1) notice to remove it. If it is not removed within 24 hours your account will be suspended. Failure to contact me to resolve the problem within a week will result in your account being terminated.
Ads / Linking Back
Hostees must display a banner ad and a link to e-Fans on each page of your website. Hostees on any upgrade plans may be required to place additional banners or a search box on their pages. (Paid hostees are are exempt from this requirement.)
Failure to have the required banners and links will result in your account being suspended. If you do not contact me within 3 days your account will be terminated and will not be allowed to be re-hosted except on a case by case basis.
Miscellaneous Terms
We do not require you to be the Picasso of web design, but we do expect you to design a good-looking website. You should know HTML and FTP as well as basic designing techniques. Video tutorials are provided should you need some help with the technical parts.
Your site must be updated regularly to keep fans interested and to keep them visiting. Sites not updated for longer than a month (without prior arrangements) may be terminated.
If you plan on moving your site elsewhere, please have the courtesy to inform me. This will free up your celeb/show/movie name and space for another user.
Please let us know what’s going on with your site! You may post a thread in our Website Updates forum to keep everyone informed about what is new with your site. These updates are posted prominently on our website, so it only benefits you to keep us informed.
At no time will you represent yourself as being anything more than a hosted affiliate of e-Fans.
Any site found to have porn, warez, hacking, phreaking, or otherwise illegal material will be terminated and banned from the network. We also do not tolerate any type of unsolicited email or spam.
Your site may be in any other language except Japanese, Chinese, or Russian. You must be able to converse with me in English. This only helps in resolving any issues that may arrise and will make life easier for both of us. No exceptions.
